for Children with dyslexia
Children with dyslexia struggle to process and understand information during learning, leading to confusion and frustration. We aim to help these children have better and more interesting way to learn. This is an AI-powered reading app for dyslexic children, integrating multi-sensory methods (visual, auditory, tactile) and gamified learning to provide personalized, engaging, and accessible learning experiences.
Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that affects reading and language processing. People with dyslexia often have difficulty breaking down words into their component sounds (phonemes), making it hard to decode words while reading them.
Target Audience
Children with reading challenges, especially dyslexia, as well as teachers supporting literacy development.
During reading or learning, children with dyslexia have difficulty understanding and processing information, which leads to confusion and frustration in the learning process. By making the design easier to understand, we can help these children learn about the text more easily, thereby enhancing their learning experience.
To better understand the learning habits and teaching methods for children with dyslexia, we visited a local school for interviews, hoping to gain insights into these children's needs through conversations and observations. Number of Teachers: 5 | Experience: 16-32 years
Based on the results of interviews and research, we decided to use a dyslexia-friendly font in the student version to help children better recognize letters and read more fluently. For the teacher's interface, we opted for a more commonly used font to ensure a clean and readable layout. Additionally, we designed a logo and icons that align with the app’s theme, incorporating a kangaroo element to emphasize the purpose of our design.
